Bone stock 6.0 needs performance advice
I have a 2006 f350 single wheel long bed. I've already done the egr delete and has a 4" straight pipe turbo back with sct custom tune on it. I just want to know what the best way to put some power to the ground. Mainly for towing not much racing
It sounds great I have 7" tip an it's racks off around 2600 to 3250 an it's crazy loud with a load. People say it sounds like a jet when it idles or when you take off. All you hear is turbo
ya i love the sound i have a 4" cat back with a muffler just not load enough i dont want insane loud though just enough to hear it, also how do you like your chip i have an 04 and want to do that chip but dont want to harm my engine or stock tranny
If you don't want insane loud then keep a performance muffler on there but my custom is good it's been on there for 45000 miles an I haven't had a single issue since I bought the truck but 6.0 are hit an miss as far as bein a good motor. My tranny is stock but I think a reman was put in it awhile before I got it it pulls an drives fine. Mines turned up some so I don't know bout egt with yours but I have oversize tires an rims so I know mine are warmer than most
my motor has a bunch of work. head studs, head work and gaskets, replaced injectors and some other stuff i want to pump it up a bit but not harm anything i want to do the egr delete, sct programmer and the 4" exhuast but thats about it i want reliable
is it in the same area? how hard was it do do the egr delete? im mechanically inclined i built a 500 hp ford cummins from the ground up but under the hood with the 6.0l just looks overwhelming
Well it's time consuming more than anything but the oil cooler is attached to the oil filter housing. An then egr delete was easy I took everything off breather box turbo intake all the tubes everything to expose the top of the block and took the egr cooler off had both ends welded shut put it back and did the proper programming to have it telling the computer there's nothing to read as far as pressure an stuff but it took about 10 hours to tear down an replace everything. I also advise to not use nothing other than motor craft oil and fuel filters no matter what an to replace both fuel filters every other oil change and I change oil every 3000-3500 miles
