Default 35s and 4"?

As most of you know I currently have a 6" lift with 35" tires, my dad just bought a gooseneck and said I could have his 5th wheel if I want. The issue it's that my bed is high enough that I will risk crushing my tailgate when pulling. Question its this, how tight of a clearance would I have if I put a 4" lift on and kept my tire size?

What if you save the money and just take your tailgate off whenever you pull. It only takes a few seconds to take them off. Won't have to worry about buying another lift and doing all the instal work.

If it tags my bed then it'll simultaneously tag the corners of my bed

What about and axle flip on the trailer? I have to do that to my 5th wheel this summer sometime. It will hit the tailate ever so slightly. So doing an axle flip on my trailer will raise it roughly 4 inches.

I run 35's on a 2.5" spacer up front and stock F350 blocks in the rear. The drivers side front tire will rub the inner fender liner under full lock, but that's it. Other than that clears all the way around on every corner, no issues. 35x12.5x17 on a set of stock 17x7.5's
