You can, trust me. Mine became more of a safety issue for me. At first they were "OK" for a cheap kit. My passenger side headlight always switched between high and low going over big bumps...
Then when it got cold out, sometimes I would go to turn my high beams off and go back to low and the lights would go completely out... at 65mph on back roads, this is no bueno. It happened a couple times, I got a little nervous and stopped using the high's as much. The lows were pretty bright and my truck is leveled. Then I got flashed all the time. Re-adjusting did nothing, since it's just a crappy bulb in a non HID housing, and the light scatters everywhere. High's were almost useless by the time the light got out that far due to the poor direction from the incorrect light housing. Then it got to the point where I had to turn the headlight switch a few times back and forth to get them both to fire up in the cold. Then they went out on me again at speed... I said FUGG these lights. Yanked it all off, tossed it all out, and put my stockers back in. Haven't had a problem since.
Just a fair warning bud!
IMO, the best HID's you can get are the digital Retro Solutions kids. They're more money, but you DEFINITELY get what you pay for. A true high/low beam unlike these cheap electro mechanical ones. They also have a much sharper light cut-off, which helps when they're used in the wrong housings like we have. The correct way to do it is to use them in a projector housing meant for HID's, to my knowledge none are available for the superduties.
Wasn't even worth getting them warrantied... the safety of my passengers, myself, and others on the road is too important. That... and I don't need to give myself any more reasons to get pulled over, so off they came! Rant over!
If they work for you, that's cool, I just have not had good luck with them!

hmm maybe the ddm kits just dont hold up to the cold which would make sense why my dads went out and none of the other kits ive installed have. his kit worked fine on his excursion until he went to Colorado last january. id like to get new housings with projectors problem is im not a fan of the whole aftermarket look. my personal preference is for any up grades to look as if thats how it came from the factory. with that said ive been trying to find a projector set up in chrome but not a one piece set up i still want the stock blinker housings basically i want the look it has right now only difference instead of a light bulb i want a projector in there while still retaining the "stock" look.
on another note just got the truck tinted doing 5% all around however being as the back had factory tint there is some visibility in the front and the rear is completely blacked out with that said im gonna be going back next fri "pay day" to add another layer of this time 35% tint on the front to get it perfect to the rear. on top of that im gonna do the whole windshield with a 5% visor tint and the rest of the window in 65% tint that blocks 98% of infrared rays so the cab stays nice and cool always
as far as the hids im gonna have to do them tomorrow i got way to tired

Wait, did I read this right? You have 5% all the way around and you're going to go over it again with MORE tint? Yikes!
Funny story about HID's, I have a buddy in Florida with an 05 or 06 cc/sb harley 6.0. Jacked up a little bit. He HATES HID's in his eyes. He's got a 20" Rigid LED light bar on the front of the truck, he says if your HID's blind him, you get the light bar, and his saying goes something like "don't bring a knife to a gun fight." Those rigid bars are STUPID bright. They make an HID light look like a candle.

@mdub: haha yup you read it right 5% tint and im planning on adding another layer haha only because the rear Windows had factory tint so after the truck was done being tinted I noticed that the back windows are completely blacked out and you can still see some visibility through the front I personally want it to match so im most likely gonna add something like 35-50% in the front to achieve that perfect match. On top of that I'm thinking about having the pillar between the front and rear Windows painted the same color black to kind of make it look like one big window. I had a bad *** Silverado a while back ago 22" lift shaved door handles you name it and I did the exact thing I'm speaking of and it looked awesome if I have time ill draft it up on photoshop to better show what im talking about. Im just up in the air right now only because of the gold trim on the king ranch I dont know how it will look
@ Karla03: hahahahah that was funny! Ya I thought about that. However I have this skin disorder called vitiligo or how ever its spelled. When I was a kid the doctor insisted i stay out of the sun but being a kid I said the hell with that and went to the beach as much as I could basically I figured I only have one life to live ill be damned if im gonna waste it spending all my time hiding from the Sun and now most of it has gone away i just have a white spot on my wrist and one on my theigh when I used to have it on my face feet and everywhere in between. What I'm getting at though is I think if i tell a judge this with a note from a Dr saying not to be in direct sunlight If it could get me out of the ticket haha if jot well then ill remove it all and just tint the front two to match the rear factory tint
