Marvel Mystery is junk. Go with the Rev-X or the Evergreen stuff, the evergreen is cheaper.

DO NOT USE ETHER. You're going to end up blowing one of the heads off the block or worse. It's flat out dangerous to use on a system with glow plugs.

Do you have a scanner? Have you tried scanning for codes? If it was a high pressure oil problem you'd be able to see this by datalogging as well. Do you have something you can do this with?

If you're cranking and not getting smoke, that means the injectors are not firing. If it was bad enough that it wouldn't start, it certainly wouldn't get better when warm if it is a high pressure oil leak.

It would be nice to log ICP desired against ICP actual and IPR % duty.

Ok so i replaced the hpop that was bad along with updating the stc fitting. Still starts very bad and idles and smokes alot and has a definate miss for about 2 minutes until it warms up. Then runs fine. I think that a failing hpop took out the injectors. Is that possable? If so does that mean replacing the injectors or is there another fix? The only code i got was icp censor circut low but that was because i was checking the hpop sensor through the icp hole.

How long have you let it run? It will need to bleed the air out of the high pressure oil system after an HPOP install. Did you top off the HPOP reservoir with oil when you put it back together? Not necessary but makes it start a lot smoother and quicker after a replacement.

ok so the answer for a no start cold but starts fine hot. ours was a combo problem. bad hpop, bad glow plug relay, and ford replaced the ficm. because they found something wrong when they hooked it up to there computer.
