TOOOOLLLLLLLLLL??????????
Allright, where can I get the friggin tool to take the trans lines off of the radiator,05 truck, been to 3 places and none have worked, I want someplace I can walk into, not web based
If its the 4 metal tabs inside the hose you can get them at any auto parts store i got my at kragen it comes in a set.
If your local auto parts store doesn't have it "quick dsconect tool" I've had luck with using tooth picks
Also 9/10 times an o ring slips when you pull it apart before you do this I'd go to Ford and get the o ring kit for the transmission line quick disconects before you get that far and have to wait till the morning to drive to th3 dealer

Thanks, pulling the motor so waiting a day to get orings is no problem. Yes it is a quick disconnect but it is Ford specific, that little ring on the line makes it so a normal QC tool doesn't work.Gonna track down the snap on guy around here to get one.
I have one. It took me a lot of searching to find it.
I tried 2 different tools from O'reily's, 2 other tools from Advance, and another tool from Napa. Some of them looked promising, but in the end, none of them worked. The tool that came closest to working had 1 last issue that had to do with the bulge in the line close to the radiator. The problem was that the bulge in the line prevented the tool from completely closing onto the line.
I researched and bought more than one tool online. Finally, after buying a few online that also failed, I found the right one.
The brand of the tool is AST; the part number is 8023.
Here's the link:
AST - Oil Funnels, Specialty Application and Automotive Tools by Assenmacher - Tools for Audi, VW, Mercedes, BMW, Ford, GM, Subaru, Honda, Mini, Saab, Toyota, Lexus and More
If you look closely at the tool, it has a larger inside diameter that allows it to fit over the bulge in the line and allows it to close completely even when the tool is positioned around the bulge in the line.
You may also see that this specific tool is contained in the #8110 Line disconnect set. You don't need the full set, you just need tool number 8023.

Thanks all, cought up to the Snap-on guy just up the road and bought the whole set, nit too bad, think it is 12 pieces, all aluminum good ones. $127, I don't mind buying good tools because with it had the radiator out in 5 minutes. Thanks again.
But if you're only going to use it a few times, harbor freight is your best friend.
