Default 2003 6.0 looses power all of a sudden and idle fluctuates

Hello I'm new to the forum wondering if anyone could help me out. my 03 f250 w/6.0 started acting up a bit strange. No major mods other than a straight pipe, air raid intake and a sinister EGR delete kit with valve block off plate. The EGR delete was done approx 8-9 months ago replaced oil cooler and water pump. Truck ran like a champ after these repairs until about a month ago when all of a sudden i started loosing power as if something was holding it back and not letting it get up and go so turbo was dismantled and inspected after thoroughly cleaning and re installing truck seemed to run a bit better but still looses power. The strange thing to me is that truck only does it sometimes cold or warm it doesn't matter its never consistent. I have replaced both fuel filters changed oil and cleaned the air filter out and nothing changes. There is no check engine light and per dealer the only code the truck is getting is EGR related. Dealer suggest i re-install the valve to see what happens but I refuse to since the EGR is not their to begin with and truck ran great for about 10k miles after the EGR was deleted. When i notice the lack of power the truck idles as when the AC goes on and off. Its making me go crazy and no improvement any help on what road I should look toward would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Also I don't get any of the common injector symptoms nor does the truck blow any smoke whatsoever

I would put it on a scanner and measure desired ICP (injection control pressure) against actual ICP, and monitor IPR duty cycle with that. It could be the HPOP going out... this is typically what happens on the 03's, just starts losing power until it fails completely and the truck wont run or start.

Other than that, hard to say.

How many miles on the truck? It wouldn't hurt to reinstall just the EGR valve, but I'm with you, I don't think it's going to change anything.

After looking into the fuel pressure it was discovered the fuel pump was not showing any psi's so a new oem pump was installed and wala problem fixed or at least for now truck is running like a champ.

hey guys, I know this is a semi old thread but does anyone know a scan gauge or monitor that will display IPR Duty Cycle % ???? I've got the Edge Insight CS and a cheapy Advance Auto Parts Actron Scanner, neither seem to monitor that. My ICP is good and I've pressurized the HPOP system with shop air, not noticeable leaks. That was with HPOP cover off and directly into HPOP so IPR and ICP weren't in the mix. any help is appreciated, I have these other two gauges so just looking for the cheapest one that monitors IPR duty cycle.

That would probably be the Auto Enginuity, wich loads on to a laptop, basically make it like one of those expensive Snapon models, lets you cycle the injectors and everything from your laptop, you get the cables to hook up and buy the Ford programming with it and you are set..

I'm starting to wonder if the fuel pump is my problem? I noticed that my fuel pressure fluctuates... And my symptoms are the same as the op described!

I would think the CS could read it somehow!? You can do it through an SCT and a labtop, or something like AE like Bob suggested.

What exactly are you having issues with, that you're looking at ICP anyways?

What are your fuel pressure readings, and when/why are they fluctuating? If it drops when you put the hammer down, obviously... but are you seeing other things?

Fuel pressure at idle fluctuates between 60-65 psi with the blue spring( the needle is constantly fluctuating )... At WOT it never drops below 55-50 psi...
