Agreed, FICM testing will only cost you whatever it costs for the kind of beer you drink, and price varies by how many you can drink in the 15 minutes it takes you and buddy/gf/wife/child/dog to help you test it.

thats given if Mdub wants to (which im sure he would), alternative is spend money on a new one (which is what i was assuming).
and i always thought the logical way to diagnose was to eliminate whats easiest first? so you know what its not.

He should do both, test the FICM, do the maintenance, let us know what happens!

testing the ficm is FREE and is so easy that it takes LESS time than it takes to do an oil change
