Ok I just spent $2,200 on my 2006 6.0. Brand new FICM 2 new injectors.....I took it in bc it was sputtering and white smoking real bad. It doesn't sputter anymore but it still white smokes at takeoff and quits once the engine warms up! No one knows what's causing it??????

Ive had studs done, head gaskets done, egr block, new FICM, all injectors are good......FML

 

does the smoke smell sweet or does it burn your eyes?

 

No it's fuel smell not sweet

 

who put the injectors in?

 

A shop in my area...called the power stroke specialist. Everyone in the area takes there trucks there.

 

how long has it been since they "fixed" it?.......has it been doing it since you picked it up??

 

I literally picked it up 3 hourse ago. Yes I watched it do it on the way home.

 

mine just had an injector issue and ficm was shot...... i fixed it myself but when i drove it the first time after fixing it was DUMPING white smoke but it was just burning off the excess fuel that was in the system

 

Hmmmmm maybe thats it. I'll see tomorrow I guess. I only drove it about 15 min

 

it took a good while to burn it off... just drive it tomorrow and see, when mine was doing it i could look in the exaust and see diesel fuel dripping out...
