Default 6.0 Powerstroke Wont Start NEED HELP!!!

I drove home from work the other day my truck was running perfect and I went back out to start it the next morning nothing so I figured it was just the batteries so I jumped it and it started so I let it run for awhile and charge the batteries and shut it off and it wouldnt start so then i tried again still nothing so I went and bought new batterys still nothing and this time it wouldnt even start to crank or click on anything so Ive took it 2 mechanics and one can cross the celinoide and starter and get it to start but then if you shut it off nothing so hes hooked up some kind of wire going into a little fuse box looking thing on the drivers side under the hood n if you touch this wire and ground it the truck will crank and start but runs like crap or so the mechanic said I havent got to pick it up but he says it will not shift out of 2nd gear now and will not run over 65mph and lugs really bad and that I need to take it to a ford dealership can anyone please help me?

the use of periods and commas would really help in your description.

when you replaced the batteries, did you replace them because they wouldnt hold a charge? did your mechanic look to see what the altinator was putting out? and if he has a wire that he says "grounds" the system to start it, that really makes me lean towards a major body ground or chassis ground thats either disconnected, broken, or corroded.

how many miles on the truck? what do you do with it? (plow in the winter? lots of mud?) and has the cab ever been off?

I have and egr delete, straight piped, k&n cold air intake, and an edge evolution programmer.

sounds like you have a ground issue, follow the ground from bat to block, take it off clean then reatach, next make sure the body is grounded too, i know there is a ground strap on the pass. side from the engine to the firewall. keep us posted on what you tried

Always replace BOTH batteries if one is bad.

Definitely sounds like a loose connection somewhere. These trucks run like garbage when they don't get the proper voltages, and the not shifting out of 2nd gear is the truck defueling and trying to save itself from damage.

mdub707 is right, these trucks need high voltage and amperage just to operate, bad batteries really mess with these things. have him check the Alternator as well.

and yes check ALL your body grounds, and battery cable grounds on the block. if you have a major one corroded or broken, your basically operating that whole electrical system on a partial ground which WILL make it run crappy, shift like $hit, and do a bunch of wacky stuff.

W/ a bunch of electrical issues and bad batteries, a FICM failure is inevitable IMO.

I think it may be the FICM because the wire the guy has running into to start looks like one of the ones that plug into the back of the FICM Ive watched how to test it and I believe Im gonna try that I'll let ya know what happens

FICM, or Fuel Injection Control Module, same thing basically as an IDM on a 7.3... serves the same function anyways.
