No it is a stock truck, all it has is a a straight pipe for exhaust. It has an auto tranny. The egr valve was just changed and that is all i know i just got the truck. The service light was not on in the beginning then the next time i started it up it was on.

sounds like the vains in the turbo are getting really dirty wich is common from the previous egr issues the truck had.

how long is it taking for the boost to build up?
does it lag power if you punch the throttle while your driving at a steady speed?

Either a stuck turbo, or more likely and easier to check.... the EBP sensor. On the drivers side exhaust manifold there is a little stainless tube coming off near the front, it's like 12" long maybe, has a sensor plugged in the other end. Remove the sensor and that tube, clean both really well, reinstall and test again. If it still does it, clean the turbo.

Thank you very much for all your help i have done alot of reading on here the last couple days. Mdub 707 you seem to know an incredible amount about these 6.0 powerstrokes. My trouble was carbon build up. other people i have talked to say you really want to run these 6.0 a little harder to keep them clean? just curious to if there is any truth to that.

There is. They love to be worked. They also NEED to be kept up on maintenance, IE, fuel filters, good oil and oil filters. I recommend motorcraft for all the filters (or International, since they're less expensive) and good oil of your choice.

They do NOT like to be idled for long times, or driven by your grandma. The turbo needs exercise. If you must idle for a long time, I suggest the high idle mod, which you can google and find tons of info on.

I know a little about a lot
