Default Banks vs DPP vs Hypertech Intercooler

Looking to upgrade my intercooler and wondered if anyone had used any of these and your thoughts. I have read the DPP and Banks are very similar and the Hyper is the best, but I haven't seen any testimonials.

This is one of the VERY few things from Banks I would actually recommend. The two most common for our trucks are in fact the Banks, and the spearco.

Hellmann makes the nicest stuff around, if you can afford it. His stuff is just pure art.

DPP...hmmm, I doubt they make their own intercooler, but possibly. Looks ok, but haven't heard of anyone running one on a 6.0.

Hypertech? I can't even seem to find ANY info on their intercooler...

Do you think you "need" one of these, or is this more for the cool factor? I mean, I could think of a few other things I would buy first with $1k before an intercooler, our stock one's are pretty efficient. Are you having EGT issues?

If I had to buy one, here's the order of how I would get them:

Hellmann
Mishmoto
Spearco
Banks

Banks is on par with spearco both in quality (Banks is probably actually better) and price, but I hate recommending anything Banks. Have you looked into the Mishimoto intercoolers at all? http://www.mishimoto.com/ford-f250-i...kit-03-06.html I'm pretty sure they were a vendor on here at one point and some of our other vendors can probably get you one.

I was just thinking with all the mods I have done and going to do, the stock cooler might be a little restrictive. I'll check out mishimoto, haven't heard of them.

The DPP is similar to the Banks in size and flow, but a few hundred $ less.

It's either a new intercooler or BPD oil bypass.

Yeah I can't see spending the money on the intercooler just now...

Yea, after reading some more it doesn't seem to be much of a plus. Oil bypass cooler it is.

I put in a Banks, it was a nice fit, good product, and Banks sells it with their larger plumbing and elbow for what others want for JUST the intercooler.

But, Banks won't tell you that they don't do anything for your performance unless your making BIG boost (all aluminum vs stocks plastic tanks) or heavy hauling. I think of it like putting a big aluminum radiator in the family station wagon. The only time you utilize it is when family is all loaded up, you got the camping gear in the back, the canoe on the roof and the A/C blasting headed for the lake. It won't make you go any faster, but under that load, it will stay cooler.
