Default High Idle Mod on 2005

I would like to do the mod on my truck, it see's alot of idle time in the winter at work. My question is how to do it ,I hear it is simple you just need to know what wires to hook to a switch, but I do not know which ones or where they are located and do not want to screw anything up. Can anyone help?

There is a link on that page at the top that says for 05 and up...

Here's some more info for you too, since there are two wires you can choose from to do this... both have different functions.... TheDieselStop.Com - www.thedieselstop.com

The only way I know of doing it, was with the upfitters...

You can add the upfitters if you don't have them, it's exactly what I did. I think the switches, full wiring harness and relay setup was like $100 from Ford, and it installs in about 15 minutes... real easy. They're nice to have anyways. I'm not sure how else to do it without those. I'm sure there is a way, but I'm terrible with electronics crap. You can always use the upfitters for other things too, I run my extra lights on the front of the truck with mine.

Are the upfitters the wires or switch, because I have the wires that are shown but no switch.

What wires do you have? The upfitters are switches. Upfitter switches is what they're called. The wiring for those runs from the switches towards the passenger side into the top of the glove box area, where the relay box is kept, then back towards drivers side and terminate near the e-brake pedal. Almost touching the 4 wires that pass through the firewall.

What wires do you have? What color? I believe most of the one's you need to attach to are orange. The upfitters are all orange with different color stripes if memory serves... If you don't have the switches, you don't have those wires.

According to the link I need two wires I can find the one by the e-brake easy which is orange with a yellow stripe but I am going to have to pull the fuse panel out to see the other correct. I thought all of the trucks came pre wired for the idle mod just without the switches.

No. You are not going to have the orange with yellow stripe wire, it comes off the end of the upfitter relays... that wont be there if you don't have the upfitters.
