My buddies 05 with 289,000 miles has the original water pump and it looked great. I had it in my hands last night actually. I'd hate to see you go through all that work without some more diagnostics.

Ideally, I think it would be most beneficial to datalog your engine oil temp against your engine coolant temp to see if the oil cooler is possibly plugging up or failing.

actualy I am meeting a guy on sat to pull the codes and am going to to if he can check the delta also, since I do not have a guage YET. Is there anything I should be looking for ?would an intermitented overheat through a code?

More than likely not. Some of the strategies have an alarm that will set the check engine light if the delta exceeds a certain amount. If it's going over 15* apart, you should probably dig into that oil cooler.

A coolant filter would be a good idea if you're doing other stuff too.

My guess is you wont get any codes, but you really need to datalog it for the ECT and EOT.
