im working on a friends 03 6.0 with an auto and sometimes you can push on the brake pedal normally and shift form park into gear and other times you have to put the brake pedal to the floor to get it out of park, i know on the 7.3s there is some linkage that can come loose and cause this sorta problem, can anyone help me out here or point me in the direction of a posting about this?

 

Quick question what transmission do you have, because there are different parts that you have to possibly replace per different transmissions, then I'll look into it for you.
(4-4R100)
(5-5R110W)
(5-TorqShift)

 

how would i find out what trans is in it? its a early 03 its still on leafs in the front end

 

It should be the 5 speed torqueshift behind the 6.0

 

ya thats what i thought i have worked on a ton of these trucks and havent seen or heard of any of them having a different trans
