It's an EGR valve issue.

ok, now here is a new problem he just called about. Hestopped got something to drink, started back up went down the road a little ways and the truck acts like it is shutting down and it started blowing black smoke, badly.

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

Codes P0403, P0404, P405

All EGR codes, take the valve out and clean it. When's the last time it was cleaned. Give us more info about your truck. Fill out your signature so we know what you're/we're working with here. Any mods? How many miles... need info.

If it's never been out, it's probably going to be a pain to even get out of there, definitely going to need the big ol pry bar.

Fixed now, he took it to a dealership in NC and they put on the computer and fixed it. It was a peice of carbon stuck in the valve keeping it open.
How do you do a signature on here?
