I just got this truck last week and was wondering if you all think i will have problems if i leave it all stock. It has 63k miles runs good and getting 18 mpg. And another question the 4wd has the auto locking hubs. When you flip the switch the 4wd light comes on but does not engauge front end. If you get out and lock the hubs to manually then its fine. Yesturday it rained and i got stuck flipped the witch and the auto hubs worked fine, later that day didn't work again.

I would say at least get a bypass coolant filter. If the oil cooler gets clogged with crap in the coolant, then it fails, then the egr cooler fails, then so on and so on. Just good maintnence other then that.

I'm just going for alittle more umph above stock (like 50 hp). So I'm doing egr delete, bypass coolant filter, straightpipe exhaust, 6.4 banjo bolts, upgraded fuel pressure regulator, and ccv mod. Most of what I am doing is for preventative maintnence and piece of mind.

It's like I tell my buddies, it's not a bad motor, it's just missunderstood. have you checked to see if you have vacuum? Or if you have power at the solenoid?

if you get rid of the EGR system and put a coolant bypass on it and maybe an oil cooler system i think you'll have a very reliable truck for years and years
