Default EGR Cooler

Can anyone tell me if I need to remove the Turbo charger to replace the EGR cooler on the 2005 F250 6.0 PSD?

Yes you will but it should only take about a half hout to remove it the first time, I do them in about 10 minutes now. You will have to remove the intake as well

Turbo isn't too hard to take out at all. Your times seem awfully quick, but it's not hard to do.

For a first timer, you can have the turbo off the truck in under 3 hours easily, that includes TAKING YOUR TIME, and drinking beers.

4 clamps, 3 bolts and 2 bolts on the oil line, one plug then roll it up and out on the pass. side, realy don't have to remove anthing else to get turbo out

Correct. For a first timer it may not be that quick though, that's all I was saying. I've seen some that are "stuck" in place on the oil drain pipe that took some persuasion to get off too. I know that back vertical turbo mounting bolt can often give people some trouble, especially on the first time. Figuring out body position along with what length extensions are needed the first time eats up the most time.

What bolt are you referring to? I used 6 point on everything with no issues. The bolts that mount the turbo to the pedistal are TOUGH bolts, you're not going to snap it, but you can probably round the head off if you're not using the right socket, or if you're not getting a good angle on it. I wouldn't split the turbo inside the truck, not sure you can even do that and succesfully get it apart in there.

Are you using metric sockets?
