Keep the SCT plugged in the whole time, next time it pops up read it right away.

Sounds like BS from your dealer, and sounds like the last owner didn't really know anything either.

Best bet is to scan and see what the HPOP is putting out. Or just follow the advice given in this thread, seems like some testing/researching needs to be done and there's a few tips given here that haven't been done yet.
