Default Another Egr ? with a twist.

Hey guys, has anyone just removed the y pipe and left the egr cooler in place? The reason i ask is that i live in california and the smog laws here are just horrible, i bought a egr delete kit and my cooler is not leaking yet, is it possible to just remove the y pipe and replace it with straight pipe in the kit leaving the cooler in place? I have an 03 f550 and i have removed the egr valve and installed a block off spool already. Thanks guys

So how was it OK to remove the EGR valve itself, but you feel the need to leave the cooler in there? I'm confused here.

I removed the egr valve and installed a spool in its place. So egr is still hooked up on the side, so if i have to have it inspected its not a day job to install a cooler. Now i want to take the exaust away from the egr system and install the straight pipe in the kit.
