Make sure the PCM hasn't been reflashed since it left the factory. If it has been reflashed talk to Power Hungry Performance about PCM and FICM rollback tuning.

How would you know if tis been reflashed? Im pretty sure my 07 has been just not sure though. What does the rollback do? Just havnt heard of the rollback yet and what it does.

Some say the older flashes got better mileage. A lot of the newer flashes killed the mileage on these trucks. PHP just reinstalls the old flashes essentially.

A good 4" turbo-back will help too. What are you currently getting for mileage? These trucks just aren't great in that department.

What about an 07??
How would i know what my board is? I did notice that back in Nov. when i had the dealer do an oil change i dropped around 4mpg. Was getting roughly 16mpg and then it dropped to around 12. mpg has recovered slightly recently to around 14. I thought it was just the winter fuel mix but now after reading different threads about the reflashing that dealers do without the owners knowledge has me thinking

You will need a hand held tuner such as an SCT. If you got a friend that has one you can use it to pull the strategy off the PCM.

Got an 07 myself. Took it in a few months ago because the fuel pressure regulator was leaking somewheres. And since then my MPG has dropped. I usually get upto 14 to 16 highway. And really crappy city driving is about 8. I do have the 4 inch exhaust. Gotta get up under it to see if its turbo back though. But since the fix its been even worse. I have said over and over here at this site about getting anywheres from 14 to 16 mph on highway. Most i have got with full tank. ( tank is 36 gals. but used about 34) is about 540 miles (just about 16 mpg). That was mostly all highway. But will average about 420. Now im getting about 360 miles per tank ( roughly 34 gals of fuel at 10 MPG with both city and highway) since the regulator fix. So Im assuming they ( FORD) reflased it.. One question though. If I was to have it reset to old flash. Would it get rid of the Turbo spool up thing that Ford puts in now? I like that as it keeps it from sooting up or the vanes from sticking.

10mpg on a truck with stockish size tires is not normal by any means. The 03/04 trucks used to get like 18-21mpg highway, since most of the flashes the norm seems about 15-16mpg, some a little more with slow highway driving. If you're getting 10mpg, something else is seriously wrong... did I just see an 8mpg? WTF? That would concern me a great deal.
