That was a joke and you are right, I didnt follow that thread very well. Considering I did ask if you had changed the trans fluid. LOL

If you don't have anything useful to add to the conversation, can you just drop it, because I'm sure I'm not the only one who doesn't want to read 15 pages of crap to get one piece of info.
No drama. I just want some proof, but there is none.

Just like a said before, coolers in the vt365 fail even though they are using ELC.

Ok good.

My thoughts were the casting in the blocks breaking apart from the sand casting process were mostly to blame... but who knows. I guess the oil cooler could essentially fail for the same reasons that the egr cooler fails... both kind of the same thing in the way they work.

"It doesn't seem to be much proof to me... I mean Ford did select this coolant... must be for a reason. Really makes you wonder."

i think the reason they selected this coolant is so they collect on the new owners that had to buy it at the dealership. why would they change the coolant to a specialized one? because they can make money on it.
and as far as techs go my father in law is a ford certified tech and i have had him say to my face that the gold coolant was a waste of R&D money. you can get a lot of valuable info from tech but, you have to remember that they are also in the business of repairing your mistakes so you have to take thier info with a grain of salt.

i started this thread so that i could find out if making a switch would be a good idea. none of the new trucks are in the cards for me but, i other than the things you have to fix right away i heard that the 6.0 is a good start. please no more arguing get ack to facts.

You could if you wanted to, but you really need to flush all the other stuff out, it should never be mixed!

Still not sure why you would want to run the green stuff anyways, way better options out there.

sitosterol, we can continue the coolant discussion in the specific thread related to this topic.

I HIGHLY doubt Ford went through all of the R&D to create a new coolant just to charge you more... honestly, why would they do that.

I don't take anything a certified Ford diesel tech with much weight anymore. I've had them tell me to my face that I was running bio-diesel in my truck, even though I've never once run it in my entire life in any vehicle. He argued the point with me. I have yet to meet a GOOD diesel tech in person in this are.
