How To Make An '06 6.0 Live On Red....
I have an 06 and it spends a majority of it's time in the woods and it has 25K.
I need a new pump and injectors as it has been running red fuel.
What is the remedy for this (don't say not to run red either.)
Thanks,
Darren

A 6.0 can run to 500ppm fuel for eternity. The off road fuel up here in the NW is 500ppm, not 'high sulfur' or anything.....
Doubtful the fuel is what killed it, maybe contaminents but not strictly the type of fuel.
Lots of guys are running red up here on the harbor with zero issues.
The lubricity additive that Ford sells is really good stuff, but you can get nearly the same benefit from the Stanadyne Performance Formula, Stanadyne Lubricity Formula, or other additives out there on the market.
We use the Stanadyne in our Cummins and Powerstroke engines and it works great.

filter your fuel better, probably got dirt in it, most farm tanks do.......it isnt necessarily the red fuel, its just 500 ppm sulphur compared to the ULSD with 15 ppm......why is a truck thats so new being used for a woods beater????

Nice Truck !
