Do your homework; search the internet and you'll see that most are reporting in the 13-14 range (combined). I know there are a few that report high teens/low twenties, but they are few and far between. I don't know if these exeptional anomalies are from engines that received different handling during their manufacture or maybe the owners failed math in high school ... regardless, these "stories" exist. I knew what I was getting into when I bought this truck, so I'm not surprized by the results ... nor should anyone else, for that matter.

As for your Chevy/plow story; I think it is just that, a story!

im happy with my truck. i got 12mpg combine, ill take it. i just though i could get better.
im a little disappointed at the mechanics i have visit, one had over 30 years experience and the other over 20 and non of them could tell me anything.
all they told me was i could leave it ($80.00 hr)and that they will ck everything but because it had no codes they could not do anything, and that my mpg was not that bad.
even the guy that did my flash told me that this most likely will not do anything to the truck

Get Scangauge II and check fuel mileage at different conditions. The unit is possible to be calibrated
On mine with no programs its dead on.

I first bought it to learn how to drive my 6,oL 4 years ago, but found it very usefull for many other information like Oil Temperature and Code readings.
