My oil cooler has never been replaced on my 06, and it's had headgaskets done 2x under warranty now. EGR cooler was only replaced once, on a completley separate occasion as well. They don't always swap all of those parts out.

Same here, never seen a king ranch with chrome package. My XLT has it though.

According to the TSB, the oil cooler core should be replaced when the EGR cooler is replaced. Tomorrow, I am going to drive the truck over to the dealer that did the work ... maybe, when they see the truck parked in their lot, they'll run me an OASIS.

I've been looking at these coolant filters. They seem to leave the engine bay a bit untidy. Is there a kit that lends a more professional finish that the ones I've seen (Dieselsite)? The aluminum filter housing is very nice, but the routing of the hoses seems a tad DIY ... just my opinion; don't mean to offend.

My brother is a Truck/ equipment dealer and told me if you are buying it from a dealer they have to provide and Oasis or Carfax to you if you ask for it.. Its the LAW now that all dealeships must provide it. Even if it is being sold as a consignment.

Okay, I picked up the truck and got underneath her to see if there's anything obvious going on. I found what appears to be an oil leak between the engine/transmission. There is a rectangular rubber plug that has a little oil leaking from it. Does anyone know what ths could be and if it's an issue?

I have the truck on loan until 6pm.

I have NOT seen a 6.0 without this, search bellhousing drip, every 6.0 I know of has it. Ford wont fix it either. Their definition of a "leak" is to put clean paper/cardboard under the truck and count the drips that hit the ground. Mine never leaks that much, just wet back there. Wow that sounds terrible if taken out of context! :c:

Although i don't think it's a big deal but my 07 does the same thing!!! Does it leave a puddle on the ground? If not, don't worry about it, i believe they all do this. When i first got mine i asked the same question on here..:c:

Doesn't seem to drip anything.

According to the OASIS, at 49K the engine was hauled for an oil leak at the "bed plate," whatever that is. They found the crankshaft bearings had excessive wear. They tested the crankshaft and found it to be undamaged. Anyone ever heard of this problem? This guy had the vehicle in regularly for service, so I know it is not lack of maintenance that cause it. Any ideas?

Looks like I'm going to bite the bullet and get her!

I'm getting a 36/36 comprehensive warranty for $2700 that'll cover engine/transmission/4x4 components/all seals and gaskets ... yes, leaks included! Hopefully, I won't need it, but it's there if I do!

Thanks for all the input! I'll post a couple of driveway pics when I get her home.
