Default Need advice on towing!

Hi everyone I have a 2006 f250 with a 10 inch lift and 40x15.50 toyos. I have a few engine mods edge chip intake and stacks. I recently purchased a boat and I am going to be trailering it most often all around florida. it is around 35 feet and weighs around 9,000 lbs roughly. Am I going to have issues other than your ordinary issues with a lift down the rode???? is there anything I should do to prevent this??? and or should I lower the truck back down?? I do not have ladder bars I heard that may do the trick, I hauled heavy trailers before with the lift but not on occasion like I will be!!

Thanks

your gonna need a big drop hitch for that thing. dont think you need to lower it back down. 9k isnt that big of a load.

if you dont have gauges i would suggest getting some. since you will be towing frequently it would be wise to get an egt, fuel pressure at least. either gauges on the pillar or a monitor that will show you all the different parameters.

Ditch the Edge and get an SCT with a custom tow tune. I'd also definitely put ladder bars on, no way I'd be towing anything on that big of a lift without them.

Agreed!

Keep a REALLY close eye on the hitch setup as well, it's like a giant lever with 9k lbs hanging off of it prying at the frame.

Yes, towing with the stacks can get really annoying quick. You could always put an electric cut off under the truck so it dumps under the truck, takes a LOT of the noise away. I ran mine with the stack kit removed, so just straight pipe no muffler no cat under the bed and it cut the noise substantially.

Traction bars, the cheap ones with no way to pivot can be bad when the suspension flexes. True ladder bars with a pivot point up front will work just fine.
