04 6.0 crank no start
im posting this for a friend he has a 2004 6.0 powerstroke he though the fuel filter was gelled so he tryed to replace it and he cracked the fuel filter cap. he thought it was gelled because he went out to start it last thursday and all it did was crank he says the glowplugs are cycling and he said the injectors are firing but im stumped i had him check the oil thinking a head gasket blew so im thinking that it could be the wiring going to the injectors but im not sure im a cummins guy and dont know much about 6.0's any help will be great and if it helps any the truck is lifted 8 in on 35's

Yeah a bit of confusing info here... how does he know the glow plugs are working? He thought fuel filters were gelled, did he change them then? How many miles on this truck? Did it all of a sudden just not start one morning? Is this truck stock? What is it used for primarily? Did he replace the fuel filter cap? How does he know the injectors are firing? Usually if the injectors are all firing, the truck will start. I doubt it lost compression on enough cylinders from being parked to not run, so my guess is the injectors are NOT firing or at least not when they're supposed to be, or if they "are firing" there is no fuel going through them. Has the truck been scanned for codes? That would help tremendously. Even if the check engine light is not on, there are still codes sometimes.
Take the filter off the top of the motor and turn the key forward to turn the fuel pump on and see if fuel is coming in there first. If there is, you'll need to hook it up to a scanner and record the ICP values while cranking.

he said he could hear the relay clicking on and off he cracked the filter housing this morning and ford wasnt open to get the part and he couldnt find anywhere else that have it, he said that if he uses the remote start he can see fuel coming out where the cap is cracked, i havent been able to go look at the truck the guy is a ford gasser tech and doesnt know much about diesels im not 100% sure but all i think the truck has is an exhust, intake and a lift and its a daily driver

Well it isn't going to start with a cracked fuel filter housing... it needs 55psi to make the injectors happy. If he's not building fuel pressure it isn't going to start, and he's not building fuel pressure with a cracked fuel filter housing...
Never heard of a relay clicking for the glow plugs...
