Default 2003 turbo on a 2006 6.0 PSD

Hi i am wanting to get that great whistle sound of the 2003 turbos and was wondering what i would need to do to my 2006 to do this is all i need is the turbo and the 2003 pedustal mount or do i need to change any thing else out also performance wise what will change on my truck if i put the 2003 turbo on and where is a good place to find one.

Do u have any exhaust mods to ur truck? I would delete ur cat and muffler first n c how u like that first IMO

Yea I have a 4" turbo back exhaust with cat delete and a airaid intake but still don't sound nothing lime the 2003 turbo.

You only need the 03 turbo and its mount.

Great that is what I was thinking what is he differences going to be performance with the 2003 turbo

I know some guys have used the mounts that came on the truck, but if you use the 06 mount you have, you will only be able to get 2 bolts in to hold the turbo. I would suggest getting the 03 mount, but you could make it work with the mount you have.

You probably wont notice anything performance wise, but supposedly they can flow a little more air. The whistle is the main reason guys buy them.

Have you looked into the powermax turbo at all? You can usually get these for about $1250 shipped new. A lot of guys are doing these turbos now.

Ya I was looking at the powermax turbo but I talked to a guy with a 2003 and he put a powermax an his truck and he said that the 2003 stock turbo sou.red a lot better but on youtube the powermax soud great so not sure what to get.

Well the powermax sounds good and will actually support a decent bit more power too. The 03 turbo is still a "stock turbo"....

Garrett claims the powermax can support up to 175 hp over stock.

i have also heard taht the powermax turbos have a lot of turbo lag compared to the factory 06 turbo how is the lag on the 03 turbos i have heard tht it is less than the 06 stock turbos
