Default IPC questions

i have an 05 and im assuming that the IPC sensor is on the front of the passenger valve cover. awhile ago the truck was having issues of not starting, it would just crank and crank. and a ford guy told me that i could just unplug that sensor and start the truck then plug it back in. well i have been having to do that alot now. i just had my EGR cooler taken off and i am runnning a tune to disable the valve. i dont think that should have anything to do with it. when the truck doesnt start i unplug that sensor and it fires right up. so im guessing that it is bad or is there something else i should be looking for? what will happen if i just leave that unplugged? it threw a code today and my tuner is acting up and wont even turn on so i can check it. any help wll be appreciated. thanks

Replace the IPC sensor then. Sounds like that's the issue and you've already figured that out, why not just fix it? When it's unplugged it just defaults to basic parameters in the PCM. Fix it.

Yes ICP. I didn't even notice I spelled it wrong. Injector Control Pressure sensor.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe the ICP and IPR are located at the back driver side of the engine, by the Turbo, right Mdub?

03/04 trucks the ICP is on the back of the motor below the turbo, 05+ they moved it to the passenger side valve cover. 03/04 were more prone to failure from heat/oil dripping on them.

IPR is on the back on all trucks.
