Default rough start and running

I have a 2006 F250 and have been having trouble starting truck. It always starts, but takes a very long time to finally turn over. The truck also has trouble keeping up with itself (no power), The trucks shudders and and hesitates as it drives down the road under acceleration. Fuel mileage keeps getting worse (just changed all filters and ooil w/ no change. Ford wants to charge $1800 to replace the HOP (high pressure oil pump), but can't guarantee that is the problem. Since I just spent $1700 at ford to fix the problem and they replaced the FICM which didn't fix my problem I a very apprehensive to give them any more of my $$$$. Anyone who has had this problem PLEASE HELP!!!!

Need more info about the truck, could be 100 different things. The main things that come to mind off the bat are, HPOP, FICM, injector/s...

I'm actually starting having the same problem. It's not starting to hard though. It does shudder and hesitate while driving though. Then when I keep the pedal to the floor, it takes a little while, but it goes away. Just happened to me this morning when I got out of work. There is no white smoke coming out of the exaust either.

Sticky injectors possibly? Have you tried Rev-X at all?

No i have not. Well I tried to start it this morning and it doesn't even want to turn over now. Have an app at the dealer Monday, but would like to avoid another $1000 bill. At the same time though I need it fixed cause it's my only vehicle aside from my motorcycle.

Alright, I just did the FICM test. All the tests came out okay except for the key-on buzz test. During that it dropped to 20.7v.

My FICM was doing Low Circuit codes for random cylinders, then finally, all 8. Then came the hard starts. I replaced it and things are back to normal. While the 06 FICM worked, I took it to my local shop and had them reflash it to 03 to match everything else.

Testing the FICM is a good starting point and easy/cheap. If nothing it will eliminate that as an issue. When testing, you should test with key on engine off first, then test while cranking, then test while running. It should be 48V at all times. If it's dropping below that, take it off the truck and send it to me .

I've got 2 or 3 FICM's I'm fixing this week, and I think I finally may have located a place to get all of the hardware for 58V conversions for those interested too!
