New owner of 6.0 lots of questions
Hows it going guys!so i just got me an '06 PSD. had to upgrade from the Gasser F150 i had. So i see that 6.0 has a few factory Problems with Cooling system and head studs. I have read up on the EGR delete kit and it honestly sounds like a pain in the ***!One you have to buy a 500 programer just to get rid of the check engine light, and 2 you have to remove basically the whole top end to do the EGR kit. So i Bought the Coolant filter kit from Dieselsite.com is this a solution to my problem? or is it just Preventing the inevitable? Problem 2, is it a wise choice to ARP head stud it if you going to use the SCT tunner?Now just the Regular questions,If i straight pipe the exhaust will the turbo create enough back pressure for me?2 what is a good intake system to go with?Oh and last but no least How big of pipe can u run for the exhaust 4,5,6 inch?? sorry for all the questions guys but thanks for your time!
Welcome to the site. The EGR delete isnt to bad, it just depends on how you look at it. Yes, you will need a custom tuned SCT to get rid of the CEL, but you will be able to make the truck more powerful at the same time. The coolant filter is a good idea, but it is not a cure if your oil cooler is already clogged. The best bet is to rebuild the oil cooler, delete the egr and stud the heads. Make sure the heads are flat!
A 4" turbo back exhaust is plenty and skip a intake. The stock one does just fine.

- Exhaust is fine. No back pressure problems to worry about thanks to the turbo! Most people run a 4". I've got a 5" straight pipe. It sounds like a damn boeing 747. The guys at work call it the jet.
- There's no reason to mess with studs until gaskets crap out. Ive got money for it sittin in the safe just in case but some trucks do fine witout them.
- As for the coolant filter, Ive been wondering this myself. I do plan on putting one on my truck along with the EGR delete. I can tell you this, without a filter or delete kit and 100k on the truck I have gone trough 3 EGR valves

If your 6.0 hasn't blown headgaskets you're doing it wrong! 
Sounds like you're on the right track, just keep reading and learning. A coolant filter and a fuel pressure gauge are the first 2 things that should be done to every 6.0! Then the rest of the gauges, the EGR delete, headstuds.

Im getting egr delete with a modded intake manifold
I'll clean the manifold myself to save the extra $300-$400. I got my RCD kit for $185 shipped. Goose, who's you going with? FCDP or GoGo?

I am doing a chitload of work on my truck and I have to get it done with one weekend. So I wont have time to clean the manifold out.
