The Edge should be able to read ECT and EOT right? Do that and see what your numbers are...

Just out of curiosity... do you plan on replacing your X with a suburban? That would be a joke

i would purchase a complete 6 litre engine and rebuild that...

i have seen on ebay for as low as 2500.00 up to 5000.00

with 55,000 miles up to 100,000 miles

then you could go nuts on the motor and deck heads ...egr delete ect...

Then bang the new motor in....when heads go ...you have to be concerned with antifreeze in the engine oil and causing grief later

The new F350 2010 is going for 76,000 new at the local ford dealer

Every one i talk to does not like the 2008 and 2009 , 6.4 litre twin turbo motor..

They only came out with it for two years then decided to come out with the new Ford Powerstroke in 2010.....

Gentlemen

The oil warning is pre set at 250F on the Edge unit which I did not know. The warning has only happened a handful of times when going up a long grade and I backed off as soon as I received the warning and the warning went off within 10-20 seconds. ECT was not any higher than normal but I do remember the fan was on a few times when the warning come on. My oil cooler could very well be full of debris and I will check that out.

I am getting some quotes for the ERG delete, high tensile head studs, bigger turbo and intercooler so that should be a good start to lower the EGT, all other temperatures and make pulling a little better.

Oh ya going to get that SCT and see if I can sell my edge to some poor soul!

If your ECT is normal (192*-200*) then your oil cooler is clogged.

Id skip the intercooler. Stock on works very well. Custom SCT will lower your EGTs

I agree with Goose, leave the stock intercooler, they're pretty good on these trucks. Custom tunes will help. Your towing tune really shouldn't put out enough fuel to get hot.

If your ECT is normal like goose said and your oil is getting that high, you have other issues that need to be addressed first, ie. oil cooler. It needs to be replaced or rebuilt, then put a coolant filter on the truck to prevent it from happening again.

250 oil temp is waaaaay high.

Also if you were to follow the suggestions of jimrd as far as rebuilding another motor and swapping them, make sure you get the same year motor, there were a lot of little differences, and you can not swap back and forth between different years in some cases. Just easier to get the same year, and even then have a Ford dealer verify against the VIN's.
