I need some help Please!!!
So I took my F-250 up to the shop the last friday to get inspected when I got it back it started really rough with lots of white smoke and had no power until it got warm then drove it home and opened the hood then filled my coolant and must have spilled alot because there was about an inch and a half of coolant in my airbox I wiped it up check everything else then it sat until yesterday. I tried to start it yesterday and it just didn't want to it started then shut off twice then on the third try it ran but really rough and with lots of black, then white smoke. I let it warm up for about 5 minutes then went on my way to rutters to get some fuel. I had to turn around because my RPMs would be high then drop below 1000 then go back up to around 2grand then drop. It did that acouple time I made it back to my house parked it opened my hood and I could hear the coolant bubbling. The shop sent a tow truck for free so they could look at it and while I was attempting to drive it around to drive up on the tow truck I noticed it had no power. Does anyone have any idea? please help. Does the coolant bubbling mean head gasket? thanks in advance. oh and I noticed its not in my signature but I have an EGR delete already.
I think you may have an injector possibly stuck open. See if you can an injector buzz test done on it. Fuel controls your RPM's, add fuel, RPM's increase. Try getting the codes read maybe, it could be a FICM too.
but if his injector was stuck open they shouldn't go up and down should they? or is it goin up every power stroke(3rd of 4 strokes in the 4 stroke engine) of that cylinder and down for the rest?
So the shop that did the inspection and got the tow truck for me just called and they said that they couldn't figure out anything wrong with it but I should take it to another shop that knows more about diesel to be safe.
At least the shop was honest and said they didn't know much about diesels. I would definitely get it diagnosed though!
