Default Biodiesel

I was curious if anyone is running it and what it's effects were on performance, mpg and what modifications if any needed to be made like fuel lines and filters and such.

The biggest thing is the quality of the fuel you make/buy. That is the BIGGEST THING. If/When you start using it, start with a low percentage of it in the tank. It will work like a cleanser in there and will literally strip all the garbage out of your tank, and in some trucks it cleans the lining off the inside of the tank. It's real common on 450's 550's and 350 service trucks. Performance should be the same, mpg should be the same, or not enough of a difference to notice. Do a LOT of research before you commit. Carry extra fuel filters in your truck too, like I said when you first start it will clean everything out and you will plug filters real quick. Start with 25% bio/75% diesel, then work up to 50/50, then 75/25 then 100....

I personally use a vegistroke, and run 100% WVO. Love this system. It cost more in the beginning, but I can run oil all year long (heated tank and manifold), where with bio I would have to stop around this time of year in this area. Plus my fuel will be completely free (minus the little amount of diesel I will have to buy since it starts and stops on diesel).

I have been researching the whole process of filtering and using WVO as fuel for the last 4 years or so. I spend the majority of my time on the WVO Diesel Conversion | SVO Grease Conversion | Ford Vegistroke Powerstroke | Biodiesel Conversion forum as well.
