Question New Turbo ,EGR , Map Sensor... still not running right HELP !!! HELP !!!

I own a 2003 f -350 6.0 dually .. The check engine light came on. EGR valve... It wet back out I had it cleared. Then the truck about a week later started running rough... lack of bottom end. Would hit 2500 to 3000 rpms would take off like a rocket in between there nothing. So the dealer said the map sensor was gone. Ok so he put in a new one 220.00 still wasnt right but had some power to pull . Check engine light came on again. Said low boost. So the dealer charged me another 50.00 to read it and said 4 hours labor and the turbo was in need of cleaning. So better yet I bought a reman from d&w diesel for 650.00 installed that. Still not much better at all. Then replaced egr valve 270.00 . Picked it up friday so with labor and everything lookin at like 2000.00 drove home today pulling my 5th wheel and I lost power on top end. I couldnt get the rpms over 3000 and I was losing speed. I could only go about 40mph on the highway. So I pulled into my mechanic because the check engine light was on it was the p132b code .. Everything that has to do with I have changed. The truck is stock only thing I have added is a mbrp delete exhaust. Please help me out.. any suggestions at this point would be helpfull. I just dont have the money for trial and error anymore. any thoughts that I can look into ? the dealership told me my egr was bad because when at idle it would blow by or something to that fact so it was getting weak. I had the new egr valve in and it still does it at idling I heard they are suppose to cycle like that. Please Please help. 2 dealerships and a gas ford mechanic and still no where. Typical VT I guess.. No offense !!

That would be great. Let me know. I am thinking at this point it is something foolish possible sensor not really sure as the 2 dealerships I have brought it to. I am in a tuff area for diesel mechanics. Shortage in the area no real diesel shops within a 100 mile radius. Just your typical gas jobbers on every corner. Thanks.

I wonder if the intake is possibly clogged would that cause this ? I wish I was a mechanic save me thousands. Instead I have to pay a mechanic which I dont mind by anymeans just wish I was paying to solve the issue .

I can't stand when someone works on a vehicle and makes someone shell out their hard earned cash (your cash in this case) by throwing parts at a vehicle they cant properly diagnose the first time around.

Did you re-use the VGT solenoid from the old turbo on this new one from BD? How many miles are on the truck, what is it primarily used for, and how often? Any smoke at all, and what color if so?

Here's more info on your P132b code P132B code - Ford Powerstroke Diesel Forum

Also what is your boost at? If it's not boosting normal you could have cracked intercooler boots, which might be hard to notice if you're not looking for it. Take them completely off and inspect them well.

Since you're out of warranty, I would look into investing in a full EGR delete setup, they can be had for less than $200 now and it will save you a lot of headaches.

Default God I wish I knew

Well as far as boost I am not sure. I know with the 03`s the boost is very loud I should say the whistle. I have a mbrp turbo back with the deletes. So the turbo sounds like it is spooling like it should. I am not sure if the mechanic reused the part on the new turbo. It`s actually not a brand new turbo its a remaned from D&W deisel . i`m at my wits end. If I knew a good diesel mechanic I wouldnt mind paying if that was going to cure the issue. It hasn`t .. boo hoo.. I have heard ( hear say ) that there could possibly be a leak in th exhaust . Everything I have put on the truck is only a month old/ 2,000 miles. I have had 4 6.0`s and never had a problem.

I just ordered a new full delete kit off ebay today. Thats after I just purchased the egr valve for what 270.00 the mechanic said its 700 for the delete I just got full delete on ebay for 200.00 WOW if I only knew. I`m getting taken for a ride and I cant afford it anymore. NOT FUN WHEN PULLING MY 38FT 5TH WHEEL AND LOSE POWER AFTER PUTTING 2500.00 INTO IT.

I'm guessing you got the RCD kit. I just got that one myself. No point paying 270 for an EGR valve when it will only fail again anyways. Good move.

I would really like to know what your boost is at...hmm. I would check all the intercooler boots with a fine tooth comb, but I have a feeling you still have a turbo issue. It is a reman... heck even a new one could still have a problem.

Well heck I was going to buy an sct 8900 series programmer at innovative... but incase I have to dump another 2k into it I dont want to get one until its fixed so Idont run short on money. The turbo has a year warranty . what should I do call D & W diesel ?

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

If I had the programmer I would be able to tell that stuff. I used to have an edge but I hear the sct`s are way better. If I had m old edge I could tell the boost but I dont. humm I`m lost as what to do.

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

I see your from NY. I`m in VT .. D&W diesel is out of Albany .

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

ya know I dont know if at idle the egr valve is suppose to blow by but when it`s sitting at idle you can hear a change in noise when idling coming from the egr valve is that normal. It`s like it cycles when just sitting there running.

What you're hearing is more than likely the vanes on the turbo cycling, it was one of the latest flashes from Ford to prevent the vanes from sticking. They are supposed to cycle at idle.

I too just read D&W again and thought that sounded familiar.

With the SCT, the custom tunes all usually have the EGR function turned off. When you install your EGR delete you're going to get a check engine light for EGR flow, unless you get the SCT just FYI.

For the mean time, you can literally unplug the EGR valve and drive it like that. It will probably throw the EGR flow code, but it might help eliminate any driving issues. My guess is it wont change anything, but it's free and easy to try.

I would try and figure this out before throwing any more parts at it. Just my thought though.

I'm about 45 min northwest of albany.

Your best bet is to order them directly from someone who writes custom tunes as they will often include tunes for free if you buy from them. I believe a custom tuned SCT from Innovative is around $430 with three tunes (minus extreme tunes), and an extra $80 for extreme upgrade. You can also try and find a used Xcal2 or Xcal3 or livewire or something on the forums for a fair price, then just order custom tunes after. Just factor the prices in when shopping used. If you want new, just call up Innovative and leave a message, they will call you back and hook you up with whatever you need.
