well the kid is still drivin the truck with what I think is a bad injector.........................I guess as long as it runs he will continue to drive it.....................he says it aint runnin tooo good at all and hills take him downn to 45 mph..............................but I cant get him to park it of get it worked on


he has 110 miles on it so its out of warrenty and also his injectors buzz for 30 seconds after key off so he has the latest ecm load


is he gonna loose a cylender over this???

 

There is really no way to know exactly whats wrong with it until you get it checked out. If it was my truck it wouldn't be driven at all. Any Codes?

 

The injector buzz was one of the ECM updates that was done to help cycle the injectors after shut off. It was supposed to extend the life of the injectors. I believe there was a ECM update after that, because of the complaints that were received.

A stuck open EGR will do weird things. Might consider pulling it out and cleaning it.

Gotta love the "drive 'em 'till it won't move no more" crowd. Makes a $300 fix become a $3,000+ repair bill down the road.
