Default primming fuel problems

Hi All

When I turn on the ignition to prime the fuel, the glow plug dash light goes out,but the primming continues a while longer ,and it seem to be making a different pitch noise--any ideas!! otherwise the truck run good.

Is it starting fine? You should hear the injectors buzzing, then they will stop, sometimes after the glow plug light goes out. The glow plugs actually run for 2 minutes after the light goes out as well FYI. The fuel pump will continue to turn for a little bit (maybe 15 seconds or so), and the difference is pitch is probably the pump building pressure.

Sounds normal to me, unless you're having starting issues.

Hi

It just sounds different than it did,,do you think it can be related to the use of B100 biodiesel or maybe the fuel filters needs changing

Are you using B100 now? Did you just start using it? I know when you first start using it you need to change your fuel filters after only a very short time (maybe a couple hundred miles) because it will "clean" the inside of your tank and that stuff ends up in your filters. Check the fuel filters...

Most people who jump into bio will start with a blend of 25% bio 75% #2, and work their way up. You can do what you did, but I bet your filters are clogged! Bio will literally strip whatever gunk and buildup you had inside your tank and it all ends up at that frame mounted fuel filter, I bet it's pretty clogged!

Definitely change your filters, and grab an extra set while you're there to keep in the truck!

Are you brewing your own bio or did you buy it somewhere? I just finished installing a Vegistroke on my 06, hoping to have the maiden voyage this week!

Hi
I did start with a b25 then a b50 and then a b80 and now for the 3rd and 4th tank a b100. I never experience any power loss. I just did change both fuel filters.
When I turn on the ignition,it just seem to prime at a different pitch than it did but maybe it will change with these new filters in time. I'm just a little paranoid with the bio.but so far the performance is great.
