you can go to BULLETPROOFDIESEL's website.. they have a PDF file on installing their upgrade coolers... it isn't too hard... but it does take some time.... might as well change your oil cooler while your in there too.....

I did consider just deleting it actualy. this is why i didnt... At the time i thought i only had a cooler issue. I have a 2006 6.0. i you delete the cooler/egr valve on them they will run a EGR code. At that time i had not installed head studs and didnt want to run the risk of blowing a head gasket due to running a tuner 1) to clear the code 2) for more power, MPG, etc.etc. so i ran with Bulletproofdiesel's EGR cooler. I think it is a better (more proper fix) in my mind. yes you can gain some better MPG if you take out the EGR... but the problem is still there sort of. sand in the coolant system that is the cause of the failed oil and EGR cooler (clogging). So... I added a Bypass coolant filtration system, changed the coolers and rode with it. I never have had an issue since. I never had code issues since i still use my EGR valve. I take it out and clean it about every other oil change.... and mine hasn't failed yet. Since then my head gaskets have blown... so my heads are stud'd via ARP, so it doent matter now.... but i didnt delete it then due to not wanting Computer issues etc.etc. Hope that makes sence. My repair took care of the original issue... the coolers and why they failed (casting sand left over from production) (thank you Navistar) and i corrected those issues the right way.. with a way to get the sand out and an improved EGR cooler that will not clog as the old ones will. I am currently awaiting on my SCT in the mail now since i have THOSE STUDS!!!!!!!! hope that makes sence to you the way i said it.....
