Ok Heres the issue i got a 2006 ford powerstroke and at warm start up say im driving pull into a store shut it off go get a coke come back out start it up it poors white smoke out for a couple seconds then stops no power loss just white smoke and it doesnt do it every time,,, i took it to ford they said they couldnt find anything wrong no codes passed all pressure tests EGR tests Injector tests IDK WHAT THE HELL I did put about a half gallon of coolant in it in about a month nothing huge ?? any Ideas

 

EGR cooler or headgaskets are pretty much the only two things that could be bad, but I'm not sure why it would smoke then stop.... hmmm....

 

See Thats what I thought Then I took it into Ford and they said no way its head gaskets or Egr cooler cuz it passed all the tests.. But Im starting to think its the PCM cuz i got it back from ford on tuesday and today i went to reprogram my Diablo Sport Tuner and it downloaded 100 HP tune fine then after tune downloaded my truck wouldnt start and now i cant restore the original back up cuz it dont recognize my trks key is on and the digital display were it tells you your miles to empty just flat lines were all numbers should be???? so im gonna call diablo monday and get the original backup force code if that dont work ill take it to ford and probobly wave bey bey to extended warranty

 

Well usually when Ford tests it and does their "pressure test" They only go up to a set PSI rating and if it holds they call it good. The problem with that is if the headgaskets are really bad, your cylinders will OVER-pressurize the coolant system, thus why it pukes out. I went through all this already with Ford. They just gave it back to me like that and I ended up running it until the headgaskets failed majorly.

 

See I Dont get Puking at all on the Overflow tank though ??

 

its vaporizing before it escapes the overflow tank..your egr has build up right now and is very close to goin bad..which will result in slightly blown head gasket is wat happen to mine and i had same issues

 

Well Turbo and EGR valve assembelly was jsut Replaced So You guys are tellin me studs and gaskets again ?? Well if so I guess shes gonna be getting a Set of ARP studs and some Bad *** gaskets.. Do these heads crack often??

 

Can you make it do it again? I want you to try and make it smoke, and go smell the smoke. If it smells like diesel, let me know.

 

Ya It smells like deisel it did it 3 times today but I took it down had it scanned and said turbo underboost and egr out of range so and i told them F*cks down at ford that my intake was coked up causing EGR valve failure constantly and last time it coked turbo to so they replaced turbo and Egr valve assembly and skipped over the intake well one month later here i sit with another coked up turbo and EGR vavle so im taking to a different dealer this time but exhaust didnt smell like coolant or anything kinda smelled normal??

 

I think you need one or more injectors. You either have a cracked nozzle or a hanging injector.
