it takes away somethin that is very useless to you, and yes it will help out, very simple to do, the EGR is stuff for emissions, it will go out on your 6.0 trust me, and it will leave you stranded somewhere ha thats why i am back to my good ol' 7.3, but the egr delete is well worth the cash

ebay sinister diesel egr delete kit. $300 well worth it. takes out your egr cooler, egr valve and gives you a solid up pipe. and it comes with instruction. but if your not very mechanical or good with engines i'd have someone else do it

They're only $250 if you do the "make an offer" EGR stands for exhaust gas recirculation. It pumps exhaust back into the intake to lower emissions, but also ends up creating more heat, less power, and your "used" air charge and puts it back into your fresh air.

There are a few different ways to do a delete or a bypass, since there is also an EGR cooler on the diesels (due to a very high exhaust temperature). Just search and read around, tons of topics on it.

Depends on if you have emissions testing in TX. if you don't have yearly emissions test to pass it wouldn't be a doubt in my mind on doing the delete. and if you have the coin to do stud then i highly suggest you do so!. doing the delete kit isn't too hard i've heard, i haven't done mine yet. but i know the sinister diesel kit comes with directions and you should be able to install if you know how to turn a wrench and have a basic understanding of engines

i have a few buddies that have dpf deletes, egr deletes, etc... and we dont have a problem here, but its pretty simple to do, a little time consuming but nothing over whelming, plus i'm sure there is a video on you tube for it ha, good luck man

OK COOL AS FAR AS I KNOW TX DOESNT HAVE EMISSIONS TESTS......ARE THEIR ANY RISKS OF DOING THIS LIKE HURTING THE TRUCK IN ANY WAY...AND IF I PUT AN SCT WITH CUSTOM TUNES WILL THIS LOWER THE RISK OF BLOWING THE GASKETS

it will actually help you taking that EGR off, and when you do the custom tunes let them know what you have done to the truck so they set you up right and so you don't blow a gasket, if you can get headstuds to prevent that
