06 6.0 Rough Idle At Start
Darn, that's some pretty in-depth repair work there. I've never re-soldered resistors on an ECM before.
I'm impressed.
So the story is that the amperage makes the glow plug control modules melt themselves after time and the glow-plugs stop working until the module is repaired?

No no no this is for the ficm(fuel injector control mudule) over time the solder joints on these boards are known to weaken and crack no giving it enough power to perform the way it should. so by resoldering the joints everything is as good as new and electricity is flowing correct.
Okay, so the injectors get 45+ voltage to them.
I imagine that the glow plugs are nominal 12 volt units?
What controls the glow plugs?
Why does an underperforming FICM damage injectors?

The GPCM (Glow Plug Control Module) is what controls glow plugs. And i'm not sure if an underperforming FICM Damages injectors per say, but i do know it's linked to Rough cold starts and some performance issues...
If it s in the mid twenties or colder where you are at and it only does it when you start it the first time each day or after it has ad 10 to 11 hours to cold soak again ten there is nothing wrong with the vehicle and as it warms back up it will stop. If it does not then start looking for problems like the posts above list.
