Default Egr cooler question

Ok not to swift with the 6.0's, i have a guy wanting me to put an egr cooler delete kit on his truck. My question is, can you do this without removing the cab? How long about does it take if you dont have to? And if he needs programing is sct the only one? Thanks, anything you can throw in would be great, thanks in advance.

You'd better plan for a full day of work. You have to take everything on top of the engine off to get to the manifold. You can leave the cab on. You need to stay with custom sct tunes also or you'll be throwing codes.

Is that the only way to get the codes to go away is by buying an sct tuner? Because I have a banks six gun will that help with anything?

You will have to pull everything off the top of the motor, and like posted, it can be done with the cab on. If you haven't worked on many 6.0s then plan on 2 days to get it figured out. Also, if the delete kit doesn't come with it, you will need the EGR Cooler gasket set, it has all the gaskets and seals you need to do the job.

You will need the SCT. Find an new home for the Banks, you will like the custom tuning on the SCT better. We use either Innovative, Gearhead, or Elite for our tunes, depending on the customer's needs. Your truck will run so much better this way.
