Basically what the deal is i will possibly have a few 6.0 fords to work on. The problem is they all run like crap and i need to get them running good and trouble free. I dont need any performance stuff unless its not costly and will help the truck run better and more reliable. What are common problems these 6.0 powerstrokes have and things to look for. What symptoms are caused by what things. I new to these trucks and need all the help i can get.

 

head gaskets and EGR issues. Almost everything else is related to these issues. Get a good EGR delete kit, and put ARP headstuds in (making sure the heads get milled flat) and they're relatively trouble free.

A CCV re-route is also not a bad idea, and almost free to do.

 

Personally, this is not something I would jump into without a LOT of research and training.

There is a lot of stuff on these engines that will cause all sorts of issues, and if you don't have the inside track on information and tools, a lot of the time you'll be up **** creek -- so just be cautious.

sorry to jump off topic but i have a 07 6.0 and everytime i buikd around 20 psi of boost i get some wierd little horn type sound anyone ever had this problem
