Can anyone help me with this problem, there is a resevior towards the back of the engine favoring drivers side on the top next to the air filter that is spewing gray like liquid out of it noticed the engine sounding like it was in a low gear on my way to work yesterday evening didnt think nothing of it was shifting fine rpms good on my way home this morning all was good to after about 15 miles then started again got home noticed smoke coming from under hood opened it then seen the gray stuff coming out seems like some kinda oil of some sort and was hot as hell like i said this is the first diesel ive ever owned so if anyone could help ill be greatly appreciated could it be some sort of cooler clogged ?---AutoMerged DoublePost---

Could be an oil cooler or headgasket. Dont drive it like this till you know what it is. Check your oil and see if there is coolant in it. Does it look more like exhaust or oil coming out the degas bottle?
is the oil cooler simple to change i found a local shop to do it for 1,300.00 dealer wanted 2500.00 to 5000.00 does this sound reasonable?

no the oil cooler aint simple, but not as hard as head gaskets. the oil cooler sit in the gully ontop of the motor. the turbo, intake plenum, egr cooler, fuel filter ***., ect all need removed from teh top of the motor.
$1,300 ain't bad at all. the first time mine got replaced it cost me $1,750
at an independant truck garage. 2 weeks ago i got it back for the ford dealer for the oil cooler agianand it was $2,225
, but i had them put a abs pump on it for $250. they aren't a cheap fix by any means. trust me.
