Look at the oil, possibly junk getting to the injector.

Check the engine fuel pressure using the proper adapter or by driving the truck at WOT with the fuel pressure gauge on it.

#7 and #8 are the farthest from the fuel pump, so they already are getting the lowest fuel pressure.

I'd betcha this is the concern.

If its a 2008 with under 100k miles then it is fully covered under the 100k diesel warranty. It is also covered under the smog / emissions warranty which also goes to 100k. Injectors falls under the Smog/ emissions warranty as does the egr/ turbo/ pipes/ fuel pump and more..
So Ford cannot charge you to fix the injectors. They usually will charge about $100 for a deductible. But thats it.

I have a 07 F350 with 69k miles. So far they have done all work with no charge. Turbo clean. New unions rings. Fuel pressure reg fix. Egr clean. New turbo pipes ( blue ones ).

Well if there is an issue with low fuel pressure or even on the oil side, going bigger is just going to cost more and he's still going to have issues. Plus, there are no "aftermarket ones" for 6.0's. The builders take new stock 6.0 injectors and modify them, they still function the same way.

Agreed, worth looking at, but I don't think an oil issue would keep eating the same injector again and again... but still worth checking.

I completely agree with this post. #1 most important mod on a 6.0 is fuel pressure gauge IMO.

So what is this truck?
If it's an 08, it's a 6.4 not a 6.0.

Depending on which motor it is will determine the problems you are having.

Go to another dealership, they'll change the injector. I've never once been asked about receipts or anything and my truck is clearly modded. I've had a total of 5 injectors replaced now. One just failed out of the blue, the other 4 were replaced because they were damaged when my stock fuel pump started crapping out and the low fuel pressure ate the injectors up.

I've been having the same issue with the #8 injector on my 05F250 for the last 10k miles. First a little history, my truck was purchased 9 months ago, and had 99k on it. After only 20k it had the hpop fail, that mechanic only replaced it and one dumby plug and injector orings(moron), I say that because its true and any mechanic who supposedly knows anything about these is supposed to change the IPR valve and standpipe and dumby plugs not plug and he was their light duty specialist they said. Well 120 miles later I found out why because the IPR valve failed and it had to be changed, good thing I guess was his shop only charged me for the part not the labor but the tow bill for my truck and trailer was 820 not reimbursed. Then at about 160k it had the #8 injector and a couple glow plugs bad, oil cooler on its way out(which IMO should be changed when an hpop and ipr get replaced)and I wanted a tuner, so I went all in an did the head studs to just to avoid the issue. Well now less than 5k later the #8 fails or so I'm told by another mechanic in Fargo and now at 172k it fails again I'm told. Possibly washed out that cylinder but won't know until tomorrow. Its BS that ford makes such inferior products such as this 6.0 and does nothing to improve substantially along the way, as is the engineers who design it to require such extensive teardown such as removal of the cab to work on it for any major engine work. All I know is I've maintained it religiously while I've owned it not to mention the improvements and for what? To keep having issues? May as well pay someone to steel it . It'd be cheaper, then id just get a big ford with a cummins. Don't get me wrong when this truck isn't missing it runs great, still goes good and pulls a load now but at like low rpm's when driving it shakes the whole truck when trying to accelerate gingerly, and its just a pain in my a$$ for the #8 injector failing all the time last 10k or 12k miles. Fuel pressure is at just under 60psi btw so that isn't it. Now guess I have to spend more to fix another problem with fuel starvation to the rear cylinders and possibly a ring job to. On a$20k truck I still make payments on to, and go more in debt to accomplish it. Thanks Ford and Navistar
