Default New Stroke Owner with a Few Q's

Hello all, I dont post very much but I read ALOT here.

On June 15h this year I finally bought a diesel. I got an 04 F-350 6.0 Powerstroke CC Short bed FX-4, Lariat. It had 110k when I bought it and now has just under 116k.

I have a few questions that I didnt find searching here or even google. Not very common stuff so I didnt expect to find much.

First: On the pass side valve cover there is a big pretty green sticker that says "REMANUFACTURED ENGINE" I dont guess anyone on here can run an oasis and tell me exactly when it was replaced?

Second: The previous owner apparently cut several wires. Not sure why or what they go to. I was hoping someone on here could Identify them. Some behind the dash in the wire loom that is behind the headlight switch, the others under the hood in another loom (I will post pics of all this if my post count will let me).

Third: This is more of just me wanting opinions. Right now I have an X3 and I'm just running the Spartan free tunes. The hybrid race currently. LOVE the power but I HATE the weak shifts. Already properly adjusted the Revs per mile and shift firmness too. I will be going Innovative when I get the dough, just wanted some insight on the difference in them.

Are Erics trans tunes alot better and is the power just as good?

Love the truck. I have just had these things in the back of my mind now bugging me. I'm sure I forgot something... Now for the pics.

TIA, -Brian.

Ah, now I remember what I forgot earlier.

The little reflectors in my fog lights have BOTH broken off. (when I first got the truck only one was broken.) How can I get inside there to remove them?

And finally, After cracking my stock crappy plastic fuel filter cap, I went with a billet one. It came with a Pre-tapped Port on top of it. Well, it leaks diesel out that port and I already have Teflon tape on the plugs threads in there. Its reasonably tight as well. Since its billet I dont want to overtighten it. Anyone else have this problem with the billet caps?

You can go to any ford house and get your own oasis report with the vin number. As far as the the reflectors. If they are like mine, Those are just supports that help hold the bulb. Both of mine are laying in the bottom of the light. I really think you will have to replace the whole assembly. But Mine have been that way for a while and has not hurt anything. And do yourself a favor and loose the spartin tune and go with Innovatives, I am not familiar with all the parameters of spartin. But I know eric's. He put so many safe parameters to keep from puking the head gaskets and shuts off the egr. And as far as the tranny. He locks the tourque converter with wot. In fact I luckly got a soft peddle the othe day when I accidently overboosted. But they build the program to how you are setup. Headstuds, intake, exhaust, and so on

I would use a diesel safe paste for the port, home depot sells it.It is in the plumbing section.Tape does not work well with diesel fuel just my 4 years experience.

Yeah Conner pretty much nailed it. Those are about the exact reasons I want to go Innovative. Safe, Locked TC from 2nd on up, Bypasses the EGR Etc.. Already talked to eric, I'm just broke for the next 2-3 weeks. After that you bet I'm going with his custom tunes. Cuz I definitely don't have the cash to drop in ARP studs right now if something goes wrong.

I wasnt worried about the fog lights, it just kind of annoys me.

I did go get my oasis at ford but most of the reports where all cut off short and never said what the end result was on my printoff. I know some tranny work was done but I dont know exactly what, etc..

Diesel safe paste. I like the sound of that. I was kinda afraid of the teflon getting eaten up.

Thanks guys.

Now, anyone know about those wires? OR is it like that stock for whatever reason?

The wires behind the dash look like the ones for the four swiches next to your trailer brake controler. Does the truck have factory install trailer pkg.

Post/pm VIN and I can get you an OASIS report

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

And to answer your second question

Those are factory pass-thru wires so you can run accessories (PTO, VMAC, etc.) without having to drill several unsightly holes in the firewall to run wiring through it.
