Default My ***** are rattlin...

Ball "joints" that is, but it got ya in her to read it didnt it

So has anyone had experience changing ball joint on a F-350 4x4? My uppers are goin out and of course i'll replace the lowers too but have never done it. The shop wants 400 bucks labor and 200 part to fix it for me. Thinking i could save 400 doing it myself...just don't know how.

if it is anything like my dodge you have to have a balljoint press to remove them.... Autozone will rent you the tool to do it..... if you are a first timer go ahead and get you some bandaids, tylenol, beer, more tylenol, and a cooler.... it took me ~6 hours to do my upper and lowers on my dodge the first time..... the second time (6 months later) it took me 1 hour and the 3rd time (4 months after that) i replaced the upper and lower control arm bushings too and that all took 2 hours..... have fun....

Well replaced them, wasn't the ball joints at all that was causing all the clunckin noise. The sway bar bushings are shot too and they think thats where the noise is.

that's alot easier than replacing the balljoints..... did you replace them while you were there? i know the factory ones in my Expedition and Dodge were non servicable.... no grease fittings FTL....

Yeah well after replacing the sway bar links, i still had the "clunk". Took it back to Hibdons were I had the shocks done 2 months ago and i told them to replace the shocks! And if they are shot after only 2 months, put a better shock back on. They did without batting an eye and now my truck rides like it has a new front end under it...
