Default Removal Of Silencer Ring On Stock Turbo

People have told me that you need a special puller in order to remove it??? I WANT TO WHISTLE LOUDER!!!

not sure there is one on the powerstrokes, the 6.0's all you need to do is put a straight pipe exhaust on it and you will get plenty of whistle

Im already on that but i dont know if i should wait for when i have money to get the bigger system or just do it with the stock one for just right now

just do it with your stock system, cut out the muffler and cat. it will sound good

What year truck? 03's will sound like an F16 just off idle, 04's are a little quieter. 05 through 07 even quieter.

You do realize that the whistle is from the turbine side, right? The silencer ring is on the compressor side.

03 Silencer rings caan be removed rather easily. 04 and later need to be machined off as they are part of the housing.

its an 04 i didnt know that it was part of the housing but if thats the case ill just leave it and wait till i get a bigger turbo. screw machining it off . thanks for the info

Well... if you have an Early 04 it is possible that you have an 03 Engine.

The 04 Engine have the ICP on the passenger side valve cover... The 03's have them near the back of the turbo.

Here is the other problem i have. I have a stack but its a seven inch that i got from my friend and i want to put it on but im afraid that i will lose alot of my performance for going that big so soon with no power behind it yet. should i do it or should i just wait till more performace work is dont to my 6.0.
