Every time you log on to the internet remember people that are happy with their truck don't usually get on-line and complain about it. That being said I don't like the 6.0 I think they have potential but i don't trust HEUI injection as far as I can throw it, seems to work on higher displacement diesels but not fit for small motors i don't think, I was a die hard Chevy guy but i got a good deal on the cummins i'm now driving and dodge lived up to the tranny issue, 24k and it went out replaced it with a fully billet Goerend and no problems thus far, The gist of the story is they all have problems, fix those problems and generally they will last forever as you intend them to.

The bold part.... ABSOLUTELY AGREE!!!
The opener though did not get online to complain, he was asking for info about them for his brother in law. Or were you saying that there just aren't very many people in the forums at all with the good ones just cause they don't have reason to get on?
I think the huge thing about fixing the problems is getting them fixed properly, and that is not by letting Ford do it because their tolerances are too loose.
BTW don't let my low post count fool you. I have been in the forums for a very long time, just never made it over to this one till not to long ago.

My buddy has an 07' 6.0 with a SCT programmer, 5 in turbo back, airaid, injectors, water meth, studs, with a stacked edge chip and hes making a maximum of 400 horses. dyno sheets proved last weekend 386 hp and 970 somthin torque.

torque is way off. Tell him to undo the stacked tuners, it does more harm than good on a 6.0. SCT with custom tunes alone will get him over 400.

I know I insalted somebody saying the 6.oL is junk. maybe junk is the wrong term. All I know is it caused ford and international to part ways after 25 years after they sued each other over the billons of $ in warr. claims. Ive worked for john deere and cat and they have their problems too. The differnce is they don't let the unsuspecting customer do all the teething work. Fords customer based dropped off drastically through the years of late 03 -07. Look in your local truck trader and see that the ford section is the largest in the book and most of them are 03-07 6.0L. I'm a die hard ford guy and every vehicle in my driveway bears the blue oval.
