Default F350 Power Stroke has no power

Hi All,

I'm looking for input and advice. I have a 2004 F350 Powerstroke Turbo diesel 6.0 Liter. The truck was bought new in 2004 and has been a pretty good truck.

In February 2016, I had issues with start up. It had a difficult time starting, blew lots of black smoke. Being winter didn't help. I ended up doing maintenance and replaced the FICM, fuel filters, batteries, oil and Alternator. It had no more issues starting up and I assumed all was fixed/good.

Between March and the end of May 2016, I allowed my son to drive it locally from our home to school and back.

At the end of May 2016, we went on our first camp trip pulling my 25 ' trailer. The truck did not have power, and I really found out when going up a grade I had to keep the pedal floored just to maintain 45-50 MPH. Normally I have gone up same grade 70 MPH and my pedal has never been floored.

Assuming the issue with the FICM or repairs done in March may be the issue I returned to the truck to the Ford Dealer who fixed the FICM. For the past three to four weeks they have had their mechanic on it. Twice they have called and stated it was fix and twice I have told them they have not fixed the problem as the truck still hasn't the power it use to have. I pulled my trailer and again had to floor the pedal.

Their mechanic originally said lets try replacing the Air filter. No fix. At the time they said the Turbo was not working. It reportedly was clogged and fins not working. IT was working prior to March 2016. The Turbo was replaced and still no fix. The mechanic reportedly has run all tests, checked exhaust system, EGR, and said after emailing Ford replaced the PCM. Still no fix. I suggested he check the fuel pressure and he says it's not the problem. Claims all codes are normal. Even checked the transmission and says it good.

He has said in the mornings after he says it fixed the truck has the power, but after it heats up the truck looses it's power. When I drive it it seems to have the power but it's holding back, like something isn't allowing the truck to use all it's power.

I have become very frustrated. I've had several people tell me my first mistake was taking my truck to this Ford Dealer. What is done is done. It's their hands I guess.

My thought is possible it's not getting the proper amount fuel pressure it everything else he says is good. I don't think he has checked the fuel filters in the tank.

Any suggestion is welcome.

Thanks
