I'm new to the site. I'm trying to figure out some dtc codes I'm getting with my higher hp tunes. I have an 04 f350 6.0 psd. With 250000mi. Mods include.. Edge evolution with custom tunes from power hungry performance. Blue spring. Egr delete. Muffler delete...new hpop.stc fitting. icp..fuel pressure is at 62psi at idle and never drops below 50. The few times I have tried the "canned" 100hp extreme tune I get a cyl. 5 contribution code. This code only appears on that tune. When running the 80hp performance tune from php I get a cyl 4contribution code. These codes will not appear when returned to stock. I also have a p135b code that will appear on all tunes but I am not as concerned about this one. The last time I was running the 80hp performance tune I was at a stop light and noticed a very slight miss and the cyl 4 contribution code popped up.. I guess my question is .. If I had an injector or two failing wouldn't they show signs of failing/ non contributing codes on all tuning? Common sense tells me to stay away from the tunes that keep producing these codes. Has anyone else had certain cyl contribution balance fault codes with tunes that go away and stay away when stock? Will the Bosch diagnostic tool at orielly auto parts do a balance test? Or should I just throw some new injectors in #s 4 and 5?

 

For the most part the truck runs awesome especially with the 80hp performance tune. She starts right up in 10 degree weather. This is why I am suspicious of these cyl contribution balance fault codes. Since I will get cyl 5 only when tuned with the 100hp edge tune and cyl 4 only when tuned with the 80hp php tune. All is good when running any other tunes I have tried..
